Military Tattoo 2019 /Edinburgh

Projection Mapping Content Design

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo marks its 69th show this year. It celebrates visible light in all its forms with architectural projections onto the Castle, cutting-edge lighting, sound and special effects to accompany music and performance from some the world’s finest military and folkloric performers. Staged on the iconic Edinburgh Castle Esplanade between 2-24 August 2019.
Directed by Ross Ashton, It takes inspiration from the optical instrument patented by Scottish scientist, Sir David Brewster in 1817 and Sir Isaac Newton’s original seven hues (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet). There are musical and cultural showcases from China, France, Germany, New Zealand, Nigeria and Trinidad & Tobago, as well as UK.
In collaboration with visual project director Ross Ashton and as part of the Projection Studio team, I developed content artworks for several areas, like China, Germany, Trinidad, and also multiple approaches to 3d mapping kaleido fx.
